Process
You can work individually, or in pairs for this WebQuest
- Look at the list of technological innovations, scientific/medical discoveries (below) Choose three of them that you would like to research. Feel free to research innovations/discoveries from this time period that are not on the list.
- Research the three innovations/discoveries that you chose (using internet resources below, library resources, or any other resources you find).
- Record your findings in the "Research Organizer" Document (below), using ONE document per invention/discovery (this document is meant to help you organize the relevant information you will need to make your judgments)
- Make sure to keep track of the websites/books/articles you use in your research, and use them to create your bibliography.
- Based on the information you have gathered, choose ONE invention/innovation which you think was either: a) The best technological innovation, or b) The most important scientific/medical discovery.
- You must fill out the "Nomination/Conclusion" document about your chosen invention/discovery.
- Once you have made your choice, you will need to design a multimedia presentation of some sort (video, photostory, powerpoint) to present your decision to the class. Use the information from your Research Organizer and Nomination/Conclusion documents as the framework for your presentation. See the "Evaluation" page for more details.
